What can you expect to see at the event ?
Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation (SVBF), is a unique Dharmic institution with many exclusive aspects one does not find in a typical temple in the USA. You will get a glimpse of some of these initiatives at the event :
1. Project #1 Godharma
Our scriptures say “gavAm angeshu tishthanti bhuvanani chaturdasha” – Gomata is the very embodiment of all the 14 worlds. Every Hindu has a sacred duty to GoDharma. SVBF has a Goshala on the premises and provides opportunity to devotees to support Goseva. You can hear how SVBF is managing it’s Ghosala and opportunities to get involved in this sacred service.
2. Project #2 Annadanam
It is a long standing tradition in Sringeri Sharada Peetham to provide Maha Prasadam meals to all visiting devotees free of cost. SVBF, as the overseas affiliate of Sringeri Peetham, follows the same tradition and provides Lunch and Dinner Maha Prasadam to all the devotees who visit temple at no cost. During the event, you will be provided with information on how you can avail of various opportunities to be a part of this service.
3. Project #3 Jirnnoddharana Kumbhabhishekam
As per Agama Shastra, After the initial pratishtha and Kumbhabhishekam, a temple is renovated periodically with all repairs and required infrastructure changes. Following these renovations, a Jirnnoddharana Kumbhabhishekam is performed to re-infuse the life force into the murtis and the temple. This is a unique event that mimics the original pratishtha and Kumbhabhishekam procedures. The Jirnnoddharana Kumbhabhishekam for the SVBF temple has been planned for July 12th, 2024. You will get an opportunity to know about this upcoming special event and how you and your family can participate and support.
4. Interact with “Dharmatma” Dr. Sri S Yegnasubramanian (Mani) mama, chairman of SVBF USA, on Sanatana Dharma. He had been the main force behind many major Kumbhabhishekams (SVBF`, Bridgewater, Guruvayurappan temples and many others overseas). He has been an ardent supporter of many dharmic activites across the globe and is responsible for bringing many unique events related to sanatana dharma to the USA. Dr.Yegnasubramanian will adress the audience on the topic: “How to blend Dharmic principles into every day lives?”
5. SVBF temple priest will be present in person to do sankalpam to all families and lead a special short puja.
Opportunities to support :
Devotees will be given information on how to participate and support in above initiatives and many more. Volunteering ,Sponsorship and other support opportunities will be shared and devotee questions will be answered. Typical funds for various projects discussed at the event range from $201 to $5000.
